AKI Call for Submission of Research Proposals using PISA Dataset
The DLSU-Angelo King Institute for Economic and Business Studies (DLSU-AKI) invites research proposals on Education and Human Resource Development, one of the research thrusts of the DLSU-AKI. In particular, the Institute invites research proposals from DLSU full time faculty on the analysis of the contents of the PISA Database in understanding the performance of Filipino High School students who participated in the PISA 2018.
The above proposals must be implemented over a six-month timeframe.
Among the expected outputs are the following:
Eligibility
An applicant for the Research Grants is open to all full-time faculty members of De La Salle University-Manila.
Awards
Ten proposals will be selected and each proposal will be awarded a PHP50,000 grant. All recipients of grants will be selected by a review committee of the Angelo King Institute.

- Presentation or participation in a workshop with legislators and policy makers and the CBMS National Conference
- DLSU-AKI Policy Brief that will highlight the policy recommendations based on the key findings of the study. A three to four-page policy paper will be published by the Institute as an AKI Policy Brief (ISSN 2094-3342).

- Information on the researcher (contact and background information, including current curriculum vitae) and co-researcher(s), if applicable.
- Abstract of the proposed research project.
- Statement of how the research advances the state of knowledge in the field.
- Research proposal (limited to 7 single-spaced pages) that addresses the following:
- Problem statement/policy issue and its importance
- Theoretical or conceptual framework for the research
- Review of literature
- Research questions
- Description of methodology including proposed dataset and criteria for selecting the sample, selection of variables and rationale for using them, and analytic techniques
- References cited in the proposal
