The Five-Year Research Program
The DLSU-AKI research team has built a five-year research program focused on the "Development of the Philippine economy". The objective of this program is to outline a feasible path for the economy, and understand the major binding constraints. The team believes that the future of the Philippine economy lies in (i) expediting the transition of labor from agriculture into industry and services; (ii) increasing the sophistication of the Philipin export basket; and (iii) increasing the organizational capabilities of Filipino firms to increase productivity.
The research is supported by three programs: macroeconomics, structural transformation, and micro and evidence-based policy.
