Development of Industry Career Guides: Phase I
Project Leader: Dr. Tereso Tullao, Jr.
Funding Agency: Department of Labor and Employment
Duration: May 2011 to January 2012
The project is part of an overall project of the Department of Labor and Employment on the development of industry career guides. These guides are meant to respond to the lack of information among players in the labor market. This weak information has led to the mismatch problem between the graduates of educational institutions and human resource needs of various industries that has plagued our labor market for decades. Thus, these industry career guides are meant to narrow the information gap.
Research Outputs
Developed the industry career guides on the construction, health and wellness services, transport and logistics, business process outsourcing/cyber services, mining, and agribusiness.
The Institute was responsible for gathering research materials, datasets and necessary information for the formulation of the industry career guides mentioned above, as well as conducting the focus group discussions with industry experts and representatives of the Bureau of Local Employment, Department of Labor and Employment in order to verify information gathered in the career guides as well as solicit inputs and insights for the revision of the career guides.
