This project identifies and analyzes these concerns within the context of providing relevant policy prescriptions amidst a fast-growing economic and social environment. In addressing this fundamental problem of the industry, this study aims to fulfill the following objectives: 1) Review the overall financial market structure and financial infrastructures in East Asian countries, focusing on the AMI and identifying major issues and challenges in the financial sector for sustainable economic growth; 2) Analyze the background, historical growth and current status of the AMI in each country and identify major impediments to its development; and 3) Identify appropriate policy measures needed to develop the AMI in East Asia, including the establishment of market infrastructures and legal and supervisory framework.
