This study investigated the competitive background of the grocery and supermarket retail industry. In particular, the study provided a detailed description of the demand and supply conditions of the industry. It also included an assessment of market conditions and how it affects the competitive environment, an analysis of the different issues affecting consumer welfare, and will propose policy recommendations to address the issues.
