  DLSU-ANGELO KING INSTITUTE FOR ECONOMIC AND BUSINESS STUDIES
OTHER SUPPORT GRANTS

The Institute supports the development projects, writing workshop, and other research-related activities of the DLSU faculty.  DLSU-AKI also provides grants to deserving DLSU Economic major students who present papers in international conferences and/or participate in international competitions.  

The following activities were granted financial support by the Institute: 

Faculty and student funded activities:​
  • Maria Zunally Rapada and Ma. Isabel Fernandez attended to the 7th International Conference on Social Science and Business (ICSSB) in Guam, USA on August 7 to 9, 2018.  They presented the paper entitled, "Cutting Profits and Running Losses:  Mechanisms behind the Disposition Effect."
  • Justin Raymond Eloriaga attended to the APEC Studies Centers Consortium Conference (ASCCC) at International Convention Centre (ICC), in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea on May 14-15, 2018.
  • Karl Louis Eugenio, Rhobe Mitch Ailarie Parel, Katrina Marie Reyes, and Keith Brian Yu attended to the International Conference on Business, Economics and Information Technology (ICBEIT) at the Osaka Prefecture University in Sakai, Japan from March 22 to 23, 2018.  The team presented the paper entitled, The Future of Value Relevance:  Observing the Value of Accounting Information among Listed Non-financial Firms in East Asia around the 2008 Global Financial Crisis.
  • Maria Paula Betina Bañez, Mel James Fernandez, Ivan Kwok, and Kaira Celina Ty attended to the International Conference on Business, Economics and Information Technology (ICBEIT) at the Osaka Prefecture University in Sakai, Japan from March 22 to 23, 2018.  The team presented the paper entitled, Financial Performance of Philippine Publicly Listed Companies for Years 2013 to 2016.
  • Stanley Galan attended to the 10th International conference on interactive digital storytelling (ICIDS) in Madrid, Portugal from November 14 to 17, 2017.
  • Irwin Kendrick and Ma. Isabel Fernandez attended to the 55th Annual meeting and conference of the Philippine Economic Society (PES) at Novotel Manila Araneta Center on November 8, 2017 .
  • Regina Villasor attended to the 54th Philippine Economic Society Annual Meeting at Novotel Manila Araneta Center on November 8, 2016.  Ms. Villasor presented the paper entitled, "The Social Epidemiology of HIV in the Philippines:  Identifying Factors that Influence Filipino Women to Get Tested for HIV."
  • Ailyn Shi, attended to the 54th Philippine Economic Society Annual Meeting at Novotel Manila Araneta Center on November 8, 2016.  Ms. Shi presented the paper entitled, "Gender diversity in boards and performance of Philippine publicly traded firms:  do women matter?"
  • Won Hee Cho, Justin Raymond Eloriaga, Philaine Joie De Armas, and Hale Berry De Vera participated to the 14th Economix:  Global Economic Challenges in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 6-10, 2016.
  • Sermae Angela Pascual, Jessamine Alvaro, Dan Tudor Lacap, and Allana Nellas (BS-Applied Economics DLSU students) participated to the 13th Economix:  Asian Economic Challenges Competition in Jakarta, Indonesia from November 15 to 20, 2015.  
  • Regina Villasor, attended the 4th International Conference on Global Health, Society and Development at Mahidol University, Thailand from September 28 to 29, 2015.  Ms. Villasor presented the paper entitled, "Health is Wealth:  Measuring the roles of income and spending on life expectancy in the U.S."
  • Carlo Anton Arguelles, attended the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University Graduate School of Management (APUGSM) at the Boracay Regency Convention Center, Philippines on February 8 to 10, 2015.  Mr. Arguelles presented the paper entitled, "Economic Growth and Political Regimes:  A Dynamic Panel Estimation on the Growth Experiences of Political Regimes."
  • Alyssa Danette Uson, Mark Benjamin Lozano, Ana Teresa Joaquin, Larisa Jane Salaysay, Zedrick Laqui, and Dan Mejes participated to the 12th Economix:  Asian Economic Challenges Competition in Indonesia on November 16 to 20, 2014. 
  • Ariane Gabrielle Lim, Kenneth Santos, Daphne Ashley Sze participated to the Singapore Economic Review Conference  (SERC) 2013 at the Mandarin Orchard Hotel in Singapore on August 6 to 8, 2013.  The group presented the paper entitled, "The Labor Participation - Fertility Trade-off:  Exploring Fecundity and its Consequences to Women's Employment in the Philippines."
  • Eddon Dalisay and Jesson Pagaduan participated to the International Conference of Economics Students (ICES) 2013 at the Holiday Inn, Bangkok on July 20 to 22, 2013.  The group presented the paper entitled, "Liberalizing Labor Mobility of the Unskilled:  Towards a More Integrated ASEAN."
