The Roles and Functions of the Banking Sector in the Financial System of the ASEAN+3 Region

This project defined and described the banking industry in the ASEAN+3 member countries through an analysis of the central bank policies of each member countries and some of its operating banks to get a clear picture of banking system in the region using indicators of Capital Adequacy, Asset Quality, Management Structure, Earnings and Liquidity (CAMEL). The banking regulations that affected these indicators were likewise analyzed. An empirical analysis was also conducted to measure the impacts of banking regulations on the indicators. The project also proposed policies that will spur the sector into stable growth and development.
