This study was intended to achieve the following objectives:
1) What are the trends on inter and intra-regional trade, FDI, and monetary flows in East Asia?
2) What extent is East Asia vulnerable or immune to global economic shocks, especially in the United States and the European Union, given that East
Asia has been experiencing increasing intra-regional trade, FDI, and monetary flows.
3) What macroeconomic adjustments should East Asia pursue in order to reduce its vulnerability to global economic shocks and help better manage
the imbalances in the global economy.
